Indeks di bursa Wall Street kembali ditutup menguat yang terutama dipicu oleh kenaikan saham Alphabet yang mendorong penguatan saham sektor teknologi setelah merilis laporan keuangan yang lebih baik dari estimasi dan mengumumkan akan melakukan stock split. Data ADP Employment bulan Januari secara tak terduga menunjukkan pemangkasan tenaga kerja sebanyak 301 ribu orang, yang merupakan pemangkasan pertama kali sejak Desember 2020 dan merupakan pemangkasan terbesar sejak April 2020. Pemangkasan ini terutama terjadi di sektor rekreasi dan perhotelan akibat penyebaran virus omicron. Sebelumnya pasar memprediksi penyerapan tenaga kerja sebanyak 207 ribu. Data ini memicu turunnya yield US-Treasury dan dollar AS, sehingga mendorong penguatan harga emas.

IHSG pada perdagangan Rabu, 2 Februari 2022 ditutup menguat 1,15% pada level 6707. Saham sektor teknologi membukukan kenaikan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor energi mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp316,16 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6670/6645 dan resistance 6725/6754
