Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat, didorong oleh kenaikan pada saham sektor teknologi. Saham Nvidia memimpin penguatan pada saham sektor teknologi. Turunnya yield obligasi pemerintah AS menjadi pendorong penguatan pada saham sektor teknologi. Indeks keyakinan konsumen AS yang lebih rendah dari estimasi membuat yield US-Treasury mengalami penurunan. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah menguat dipicu oleh pelemahan dollar AS dan mengantisipasi potensi dampak badai Idalia yang akan melanda Florida pekan ini. Harga emas juga menguat dipicu oleh pelemahan dollar AS dan yield US-Treasury setelah data pembukaan lapangan kerja di AS turun pada bulan Juli pada level terendah sejak awal 2021.

IHSG pada perdagangan Selasa 29 Agustus 2023 ditutup menguat 0,52% pada level 6957. Saham sektor infrastruktur membukukan penguatan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor konsumer cyclical mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net sell Rp1,627 triliun termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler.
