Indeks di bursa Wall Street kembali ditutup menguat memasuki hari ketiga didorong oleh meredanya kekhawatiran akan dampak varian omicron terhadap ekonomi seiring dengan adanya perkembangan positif yang mendorong optimisme. Produsen vaksin AstraZeneca dan Novavax menyatakan vaksin mereka dapat bertahan dari varian omicron. AS juga memberikan izin pemakaian obat Covid-19 dari Merck untuk pasien yang lebih berisiko, setelah sehari sebelumnya telah memberikan izin penggunaan obat pil Covid-19 dari Pzifer yang dapat dikonsumsi di rumah. Sementara itu data initial claims pekan lalu masih bertahan di level sebelum masa pandemi seiring dengan ketatnya pasar tenaga kerja. Belanja konsumen meningkat 0,6%, sesuai dengan perkiraan. Indeks PCE prices bulan November naik 5,7% yoy dari bulan sebelumnya 5,1% yoy, sedangkan indeks PCE inti mecnapai 4,7% yoy dari 4,2% yoy. Bursa Wall Street akan tutup pada perdagangan Jumat karena libur menjelang Hari Natal.
IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 23 Desember 2021 ditutup menguat 0,40% pada level 6555. Saham sektor industri membukukan penguatan terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor teknologi mengalami pelemahan terbesar. Investor asing net sell Rp50,82 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6525/6485 dan resistance 6580/6610.
