Indeks di bursa Wall Street pada akhir pekan lalu ditutup melemah akibat kekhawatiran tidak akan tercapainya kesepakatan untuk menaikkan plafon utang AS sebelum batas waktu 1 Juni 2023 karena tertundanya negosiasi lebih lanjut. Namun pelemahan indeks tertahan oleh komentar dari Chairman The Fed Jerome Powell yang menyatakan bahwa tekanan di sektor perbankan dapat membuat kenaikan suku bunga tidak akan setinggi perkiraan sebelumnya dalam upaya untuk mencapai tujuan inflasi sesuai target The Fed. Namun di lain pihak, Powell juga menyatakan bahwa inflasi masih terlalu tinggi.

Data ekonomi AS yang akan dirilis pada pekan ini diantaranya new home sales, initial claims, personal income, personal spending dan PCE prices. Dari domestik, pada Rabu-Kamis akan diselenggarakan RDG Bank Indonesia yang diperkirakan masih akan mempertahankan BI7DRR pada level 5,75%.

IHSG pada perdagangan Jumat 19 Mei 2023 ditutup menguat 0,56% pada level 6700. Saham sektor keuangan membukukan penguatan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor energi mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net buy Rp1,039 triliun termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6660/6630 dan resistance 6730/6755. Stock pick: BBRI, BBNI, BMRI, BBCA, BRIS, TLKM, ISAT, EXCL, ASII, INDF
