Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat, yang antara lain dipicu oleh laporan keuangan Nike dan FedEx yang lebih baik dari estimasi serta data keyakinan konsumen yang lebih baik dari estimasi dan mencapai level tertinggi sejak April. Laporan keuangan yang lebih baik dari estimasi mendorong optimisme pasar bahwa kinerja emiten tidak seburuk perkiraan sebelumnya. Selain itu menjelang akhir tahun dan indeks yang telah mengalami koreksi selama beberapa waktu, membuat investor mulai melakukan pembelian dengan harapan akan ada reli hingga menjelang akhir tahun. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah menguat dipicu oleh data cadangan minyak AS yang mengalami penurunan. Harga emas cenderung stabil karena penguatan dollar AS membatasi kenaikan harga emas.

IHSG pada perdagangan Rabu 21 Desember 2022 ditutup menguat 0,77% pada level 6820. Saham sektor energi membukukan penguatan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor properti mengalami pelemahan terbesar. Investor asing net sell Rp1,58 triliun, termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6790/6765 dan resistance 6855/6900.
