Indeks di bursa Wall Street pada akhir pekan lalu ditutup melemah akibat meningkatnya kembali kekhawatiran akan berlanjutnya kenaikan suku bunga. Setelah Fed Minutes yang dirilis pada pekan lalu mengindikasikan The Fed masih akan melanjutkan kenaikan suku bunga hingga inflasi turun dengan signifikan, Presiden The Fed St. Louis berkomentar yang mengisyaratkan The Fed akan melanjutkan kenaikan suku bunga dalam waktu dekat. Sebelumnya investor berharap kenaikan suku bunga The Fed akan melambat. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah sempat melemah akibat kekhawatiran akan potensi resesi ekonomi, namun kemudian berbalik menguat kembali. Harga emas melemah akibat penguatan dollar AS. Data ekonomi AS yang akan dirilis pada pekan ini diantaranya new home sales, durable orders, initial claims, personal income, personal spending dan PCE prices.

IHSG pada perdagangan Jumat 19 Agustus 2022 ditutup melemah 0,19% pada level 7172. Saham sektor properti mengalami koreksi terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan membukukan penguatan terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp949,58 miliar, termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 7155/7125 dan resistance 7225/7255.
