Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup melemah akibat kekhawatiran akan dampak penyebaran virus varian omicron terhadap ekonomi. Penyebaran varian omicron dideteksi telah terjadi di 43 dari 50 negara bagian AS dan sekitar 90 negara di dunia seiring dengan liburan musim dingin. Saham yang sensitif dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi mengalami pelemahan. Demikian juga dengan saham sektor energi, seiring dengan turunnya harga minyak mentah akibat kekhawatiran akan turunnya permintaan minyak mentah karena dampak penyebaran virus terhadap ekonomi. Harga emas juga melemah yang didorong oleh sentiment negatif dari omicron dan rencana The Fed untuk mempercepat pengetatan kebijakan moneternya.
IHSG pada perdagangan Senin 20 Desember 2021 ditutup melemah 0,83% pada level 6547. Saham sektor industri mengalami koreksi terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor teknologi membukukan penguatan terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp542,33 miliar, termasuk transaksi di pasar negosiasi atas transaksi saham MLPL senilai Rp1,01 triliun. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6525/6485 dan resistance 6600/6630. Stock pick: TLKM, BBCA, EMTK, TBIG, EXCL, ADRO
