Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat dipicu oleh harapan akan laporan kinerja keuangan emiten yang masih bagus serta ekspektasi indeks telah mencapai level terendahnya setelah mengalami koreksi tajam pada tahun ini. Beberapa laporan kinerja keuangan emiten yang dirilis menimbulkan ekspektasi bahwa emiten masih dapat membukukan kinerja yang lebih baik dari yang dikhawatirkan sebelumnya meskipun mendapatkan tekanan dari kondisi ekonomi akhir-akhir ini. Sementara itu data housing starts bulan Juni turun 2%. Harga minyak mentah berlanjut memguat akibat ketatnya suplay dan pelemahan dollar AS, meskipun di tengah kecemasan akan potensi perlambatan ekonomi yang dapat menurunkan permintaan.

IHSG pada perdagangan Selasa 19 Juli 2022 ditutup menguat 1,15% pada level 6736. Semua sektor menguat dengan kontribusi penguatan terbesar pada saham sektor energi. Investor asing net buy Rp58,03 miliar, termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6700/6650 dan resistance 6760/6795.
