Wall Street's main indices closed mixed within a narrow range. The Dow Jones Index rebounded positively after a 10-day decline, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite recorded limited losses. Initial gains following the previous day's significant downturn were later corrected. Rising US Treasury yields pressured stocks. Crude oil prices weakened due to indications that central banks in the US, Europe, and Asia will cautiously reduce interest rates amid persistent inflation, sparking concerns about economic slowdown and decreased oil demand. A stronger US dollar made oil prices more expensive for other currencies. The Bank of England and Bank of Japan maintained their interest rates. President-elect Donald Trump's tariff plans cast a shadow over export-dependent economies.

The JCI closed 1.84% lower at 6,977 on Thursday, December 19, 2024. All sectors declined, with basic materials recorded the largest correction. Foreign investors recorded a net sell of IDR 943.95 billion including non regular market transaction. JCI is expected to fluctuate within the support range of 6,945-6,905 and resistance range of 7,000-7,040. Recommended stocks: BBCA, BMRI, BBTN, INDY, ADMR, CTRA, SSIA.
