Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup mix, di mana indeks Dow Jones ditutup menguat mencapai rekor tertinggi baru, sedangkan indeks S&P500 ditutup di area negatif dan Nasdaq Composite ditutup menguat tipis. Sentimen positif antara lain berasal dari data penjualan ritel bulan September yang di atas perkiraan serta laporan kinerja keuangan beberapa emiten yang lebih baik dari estimasi. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah rebound tipis setelah selama empat hari mengalami koreksi. Sedangkan harga emas menguat mencapai rekor tertinggi baru menjelang pemilu AS pada bulan depan.

IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 17 Oktober 2024 ditutup menguat 1,13% pada level 7735. Saham sektor basic materials membukukan penguatan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net buy Rp1,22 triliun termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 7700/7650 dan resistance 7765/7780. Stock pick : BBRI, BMRI, BBCA, BRIS, ASII, ADRO, TPIA, BREN, CUAN, ANTM
