Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat, melanjutkan rebound setelah mengalami koreksi selama beberapa pekan terakhir. Data penjualan ritel AS bulan April meningkat 0,9% mom, di bawah konsensus yang sebesar 1,1% mom. Indeks turun dari level tertingginya kemarin, setelah ada komentar terbaru dari Chairman The Fed Jerome Powell. Namun kemudian indeks kembali sedikit menguat. Powell mengatakan mendukung kenaikan suku bunga hingga inflasi mulai turun pada level yang sehat. The Fed berkomitmen akan menurunkan inflasi hingga mendekati level target The Fed sekitar 2%.

IHSG pada perdagangan Selasa 17 Mei 2022 ditutup menguat 0,7% pada level 6644. Saham sektor energi membukukan penguatan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor infrastruktur mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp165,23 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6600/6575 dan resistance 6700/6730.
