Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup melemah akibat pengumuman The Fed sehari sebelumnya yang akan memperketat kebijakan moneternya lebih cepat dari perkiraan sebelumnya, mendorong tekanan jual pada saham sektor teknologi yang terkena dampak negatif dari kenaikan suku bunga. Sebaliknya saham sektor keuangan mengalami kenaikan. Sementara itu Bank of England menaikkan suku bunga acuan menjadi 0,25% untuk meredam laju inflasi. Sedangkan ECB masih mempertahankan stimulusnya, namun akan menguranginya secara bertahap akibat masih adanya pandemi dan inflasi tidak setinggi AS dan Inggris. Sementara itu data initial claims pekan lalu mengalami kenaikan menjadi 206 ribu dari 188 ribu. Presiden Joe Biden telah menandatangani RUU batas utang AS menjadi UU sehingga menghindari terjadinya gagal bayar. Sebelumnya Kongres AS telah menyetujui kenaikan batas atas utang AS sebesar USD 2,5 triliun menjadi USD 31,4 triliun.
IHSG pada perdagangan Kamis 16 Desember 2021 ditutup melemah 0,47% pada level 6594. Saham sektor consumer cyclical mengalami koreksi terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan membukukan kenaikan terbesar. Investor asing net sell Rp734,68 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6570/6525 dan resistance 6630/6652. Stock pick: BMRI, ARTO, TLKM, EXCL, ADRO, EMTK, KLBF
