Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup mix, di mana indeks Dow Jones ditutup melemah, sedangkan indeks S&P500 dan Nasdaq Composite ditutup menguat. Indeks bergerak fluktuatif menantikan data inflasi AS yang akan dirilis pada pekan ini. Data inflasi bulan Juli akan menjadi fokus perhatian pasar pada pekan ini, sebagai indikator kesehatan ekonomi AS serta potensi penurunan suku bunga The Fed pada September mendatang di tengah fluktuasi pasar yang meningkat akibat kecemasan akan resesi ekonomi AS dan carry trade pada pekan lalu. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah menguat akibat meningkatnya ketegangan politik di Timur Tengah. Harga emas juga menguat seiring dengan kenaikan permintaan akan safe haven dan ekspektasi penurunan suku bunga The Fed.

IHSG pada perdagangan Senin 12 Agustus 2024 ditutup menguat 0,56% pada level 7297. Sektor energi membukukan kenaikan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing mencatatkan net buy Rp490 miliar termasuk transaksi di pasar non regular. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 7270/7250 dan resistance 7325/7350.
