Indeks di bursa Wall Street pada akhir pekan lalu ditutup melemah terbatas, di tengah data tenaga kerja yang di bawah perkiraan. Data nonfarm payrolls bulan September menunjukkan penyerapan tenaga kerja sebanyak 194 ribu dari bulan sebelumnya 366 ribu, serta jauh di bawah estimasi yang sebanyak 450 ribu. Namun tingkat pengangguran turun menjadi 4,8% dari 5,2%. Di lain pihak, data nonfarm payrolls yang di bawah estimasi tersebut, dapat menimbulkan pertanyaan apakah tapering The Fed akan jadi dilakukan pada tahun ini. Sementara itu saham sektor energi mengalami kenaikan seiring dengan kenaikan harga minyak mentah WTI yang sempat mencapai level USD80/barel, yang merupakan level tertinggi sejak tahun 2014. Kenaikan harga minyak mentah masih disebabkan oleh meningkatnya permintaan di tengah suplay yang ketat. Data ekonomi AS yang akan dirilis pada pekan ini diantaranya CPI, FOMC Minutes, PPI, retail sales serta Michigan Sentiment. Earning season triwulan III di Wall Street juga akan dimulai pada pekan ini.
IHSG pada perdagangan Jumat 8 Oktober 2021 ditutup menguat 1,02% pada level 6481. Saham sektor transportasi membukukan penguatan terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor konsumer cyclical menjadi satu-satunya sektor yang melemah. Investor asing net buy Rp2,419 triliun. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6450/6392 dan resistance 6504/6542. Stock pick: BBNI, BBTN, TLKM, EXCL, ADRO, ITMG, INCO, INDY, TBIG, TOWR
