Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat moderat yang antara lain didorong oleh optimisme bahwa dampak varian omicron tidak akan seburuk perkiraan sebelumnya. Selain itu Pfizer dan BioNTech menyatakan bahwa hasil uji laboratoriumnya menunjukkan bahwa tiga kali vaksinasi akan menetralkan varian omicron dan mereka akan mendistribusikan vaksin yang telah ditingkatkan pada Maret 2022 jika diperlukan. Pfizer juga mengatakan bahwa vaksin dosis ke-empat mungkin diperlukan lebih cepat dari perkiraan sebelumnya. Sebelumnya pasar khawatir dengan langkah yang akan diambil oleh pemerintah Inggris untuk mencegah penyebaran varian baru, termasuk anjuran untuk bekerja dari rumah. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah menguat karena ekspektasi varian omicron hanya berdampak kecil terhadap permintaan minyak mentah. Sedangkan harga emas melemah, menantikan data inflasi AS yang akan dirilis Jumat.
IHSG pada perdagangan Rabu 8 Desember 2021 ditutup menguat 0,02% pada level 6603. Saham sektor teknologi membukukan kenaikan terbesar. Sedangkan saham sektor industri mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing net buy Rp2,52 triliun, termasuk transaksi di pasar negosiasi atas saham AVIA senilai net buy asing Rp3,22 triliun dan INTP yang mencatatkan net sell asing Rp694,31 miliar. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 6575/6550 dan resistance 6645/6675. Stock pick: BBCA, ARTO, EMTK, MDKA, AGRO, BRIS
