Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat dipicu oleh reli pada saham Nvidia yang memimpin penguatan saham sektor teknologi serta data tenaga kerja yang sedikit melemah meningkatkan ekspektasi akan penurunan suku bunga The Fed pada tahun ini. Data ADP Employment bulan Mei menunjukkan penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor swasta melambat menjadi 152 ribu, jauh di bawah estimasi yang sebesar 175 ribu. Data tersebut membuat pasar memprediksi peluang The Fed menurunkan suku bunga pada pertemuan September semakin meningkat. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah rebound. Harga emas juga menguat karena ekspektasi penurunan suku bunga The Fed.

IHSG pada perdagangan Rabu 5 Juni 2024 ditutup melemah 2,14% pada level 6947. Saham sektor basic material mengalami koreksi terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor kesehatan merupakan satu-satunya sektor yang menguat. Investor asing mencatatkan net sell Rp567,65 miliar termasuk transaksi di pasar non regular.
