Indeks di bursa Wall Street ditutup menguat dipicu oleh data ekonomi dan laporan keuangan emiten yang lebih baik dari estimasi sehingga mengurangi kekhawatiran akan resesi. Beberapa data ekonomi, seperti indeks ISM sektor jasa, durable good orders dan sektor manufaktur yang lebih baik dari estimasi, mengurangi kecemasan investor bahwa ekonomi AS telah masuk dalam resesi. Presiden The Fed St. Louis juga menyatakan bahwa saat ini ekonomi tidak dalam resesi dan The Fed masih akan menaikkan suku bunga untuk meredam inflasi. Sementara itu harga minyak mentah berlanjut melemah setelah data cadangan minyak AS mengalami kenaikan dan OPEC+ menyatakan akan menaikkan target produksinya sebanyak 100 ribu bpd.

IHSG pada perdagangan Rabu 3 Agustus 2022 ditutup menguat 0,84% pada level 7046. Saham sektor teknologi membukukan kenaikan terbesar, sedangkan saham sektor consumer cyclicals mengalami koreksi terbesar. Investor asing net sell Rp7,135 triliun, termasuk transaksi di pasar non reguler. Pada perdagangan hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak pada kisaran support 7005/6970 dan resistance 7070/7085.
