Market Review and Prediction
The major indices on Wall Street closed mixed again, with the Dow Jones ending lower while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite finished higher. Positive sentiment was driven by a rise in Nvidia shares ahead of its earnings report today. Investors also shrugged off concerns about growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine. However, some sought safe-haven assets, leading to higher prices for bonds and gold. The VIX index also rose. Additionally, crude oil prices strengthened amid the escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict.
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) rose by 0.86% at 7195. The technology sector recorded the largest gain, while the healthcare sector was the only sector to post the largest decline. Foreign investors recorded a net sell of IDR 746.2 billion, including transactions in the non-regular market. Today, the JCI is expected to move within a support range of 7150/7120 and resistance at 7240/7265. Stock picks: BBRI, TLKM, ISAT, EXCL, PTBA, INDY, HRUM, SMGR, INTP.
