The Wall Street indices closed mixed. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 ended higher, while the Nasdaq Composite closed lower. Investors rotated from technology stocks to non-technology sectors. Energy stocks strengthened as crude oil prices rose. Health care and materials sector stocks also saw gains. The rise in US Treasury yields acted as a catalyst for the correction in technology sector stocks. In addition to awaiting inflation data, this week also marks the start of Q4 2024 earnings season. Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan are scheduled to release their financial reports on Wednesday, while Morgan Stanley and Bank of America will report on Thursday. Meanwhile, crude oil prices continued to strengthen due to sanctions on Russia's oil industry, coupled with potential demand growth from China and India. Gold prices corrected due to the strengthening of the US dollar.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, the JCI closed lower by 1.02% at 7016. The industrial sector saw the largest correction, while the basic materials sector posted the biggest gain. Foreign investors made a net purchase of IDR 383.46 billion, including in the non-regular market. Today, the JCI is expected to trade within a support range of 6980/6930 and a resistance range of 7030/7060. Stock picks: BRIS, TLKM, ISAT, ICBP, INDF, HRTA, ANTM, TINS, INCO, UNTR, MDKA, MEDC.
